The Embassy of Nigeria in Sweden was opened in 1967 shortly after Nigeria gained her Independence. This was to foster the cordial relationship existing between Nigeria and the Nordic countries. Under the Mission’s Diplomatic jurisdiction of Embassy of Nigeria Sweden, we offers services to Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. Its mandate was and remains to expand the scope of the relations in every area. The relations since then have become much stronger, especially with regards to Art and Culture, Science and Technology, Education and Sport.
Further, there has been an upsurge in economic activities involving notable Nordic companies like Statoil, Nokia, Ericsson, Maersk-Moller, Aker, Hydro, ABB, Tetrapak and Electrolux. Besides these big players, a number of small and medium scale companies from the Nordic countries are increasingly entering the Nigerian Market.
The recent economic reform, restructuring and friendly macroeconomic policies have opened new horizons for expanding and strengthening Nigeria’s socioeconomic co-operation with the Nordic countries. The Embassy of Nigeria, Stockholm remains committed to promoting the country’s interest within the Nordic region and the world at large.
