TATA AND TVS TO SET UP PLANTS IN NIGERIA

Two vehicle manufacturing companies from India, TATA and TVS have indicated their interest in setting up automobile plants in Nigeria. The representatives of both companies have revealed that the new National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) recently approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria encouraged them to come forward with their proposition. According to the Principal Executive Officer (Information), National Automotive Council, Bello Rasheed.

The companies were provided with technical details, administrative requirements and NAIDP guidelines for setting up vehicle industrial plants in the country. TATA Motors is ranked the world’s fifth truck manufacturer and India’s largest automobile maker. Their products include cars, buses, utility vehicles, SUV’s, trucks, armoured and military vehicles. They are also the new owners of the Land rover and Jaguar brands.
