His Excellency Benedict Onochie Amobi, Ambassador to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland of the Government of Nigeria exchanged exclusive insights and deliberated on key issues regarding the future of Nordicʼs economy, market and business in 2014 and beyond, with other business and government leaders representing 15 countries at the flagship Future Global 100 (FG100) Nordics Meeting in Stockholm on 9 October.

HE Benedict Amobi shared with attending leaders about Nigeria, how businesses should be looking at this emerging market, and the need for greater co-operation between the Nordics government and industry.

“Avoid the Nigerian economy at your own peril. Nigeria has massive potential and opportunities for Nordic businesses, and there is a lack of government support to help take businesses (especially small to medium scale companies), to enter the African market,” said HE Amobi.

“Africa and Nigeria have the critical inputs of resources and the market… whilst the Nordic countries have the capital and skills. For
continued growth in Nordics, you need to move to the emerging and frontier markets of Africa and
Nigeria especially, to create a win-win situation for both markets,” added HE Amobi.
